MARRIOTT EXECUSTAY VICE PRESIDENT ADAM SHERER APPOINTED HEAD OF CORPORATE HOUSING PROVIDERS ASSOCIATION
Temporary Housing Industry Poised for Economic Recovery
Bethesda, Md. – June 18, 2010 – Marriott ExecuStay® Vice President Adam Sherer recently took the helm as president of the Corporate Housing Providers Association. CHPA is the only trade association dedicated to serving the interests of the more than $2 billion corporate housing industry. Marriott ExecuStay (http://www.ExecuStay.com), is a leader in furnished apartments, temporary housing, and corporate apartments.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities at ExecuStay, Sherer will serve as CHPA’s leader and spokesperson, promoting the organization’s new strategic plan and deploying member volunteers who will have a major role in executing the plan.
“We are at the beginning of the economic recovery, and we want to ensure that corporate housing is poised and prepared to help businesses, government and the military with their extended-stay travel needs,” said Sherer. “My goal is to help strengthen the corporate housing industry through increasing market share, raising awareness, educating our members about new markets and revenue streams and increasing member profitability through data collection and analysis,” said Sherer.
Sherer joined Marriott International in 1996. In his previous Marriott roles, Sherer led efforts in new product development, brand acquisitions, market conversions, operations, franchise services, and the development of Marriott’s temporary housing franchise program.
Sherer holds a Master in Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received his bachelor’s degree.
